Ruffled Cake for Mother's Day
I made this ruffled cake for this Mother's Day. I wanted to make something special for my Mom, as after so many years, my Mom is right here with me on this day. Love her always.. For me, she is the Best Mom ever..
For the banner on top, I made it out of cardstock paper and bamboo sticks. The picture here does not show, but I added the words 'Best Mom' on this banner later.
To make the ruffles on the cake, I followed the video put up by sweetandsaucy.
I want to mention a little on the ruffled cake stand as well. I searched for it for months but could not find it as the manufacturer who made it had stopped its production for a while. But, as luck would have it, I visited a local bakery and saw that they had it on display. I shamelessly asked them if they would sell it to me.. and yes.. they did. They were totally unable to understand my excitement. During my search for this stand, I realised that there were many like me who were looking for this stand. I found one similar to this on etsy here. I hope its useful.
A very Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!

Hey Tania,
ReplyDeleteWanted you to know that I have been following your site closely. Congratulations on the great stuff that you have been doing. Of all these, my favourites are the ruffled cake and the fantastic stuff you did for your son's birthday!!! :) Somehow, although unrelated, reminds me of the atta halwa and cheesecake attempts of ours in our Andheri flat :)
Keep it up girl!
Love,
Indrani
Thanks much Indrani.. I miss those Bombay days.. You know, I haven't made atta halwa in a long time now. Will make this week :-)
